“Like Us” is an energetic ode to the boom bap era, filled with punchy lyrics and a cadence-crazy flow that showcases Chip-Fu’s unparalleled ability to craft gritty lyrical synergies. Chip-Fu explains, “This track is about bringing back that real Hip-Hop energy. It’s a nod to the boom bap sound that shaped me as an artist and a reminder of what makes Hip-Hop so powerful—the beats, the lyrics, the culture. I wanted to create something that feels fresh yet timeless, and I think “Like Us” does just that.”
The official video was directed by John “Owlman” Jacobs Jr. and Chip Fu describes the inspiration behind the video as, “Something to showcase my growth as a solo artist. Each verse represented a specific time, and each scene represented the changes one must make, whether they are routine or involve stepping out of one’s comfort zone, to stay relevant and creative.”
“Like Us” serves as the lead single off Chip-Fu’s upcoming EP, Invisible Footprints, a project that delves deep into his journey and the unseen impact of his artistry.
