Tyler Sebago, the renowned supermodel, will take center stage as the host of the red carpet at the 21st Annual South Bay Music Awards, set to take place on December 1, 2024, at the legendary Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California. Sebago will be talking with some of rock music’s biggest names, including members of iconic bands such as Great White, Metallica, Dokken, Quiet Riot, KISS, and Autograph, as well as a host of celebrated multi-platinum songwriters and producers.
Reflecting on the significance of the role, Sebago told *Louder Than War* in an exclusive interview, “I grew up listening to these bands, studying their artform, and appreciating the subtlety in their larger-than-life persona. It’s such an honor to be asked to delve into their lives and legendary careers, and I am thrilled to be invited to such a prestigious table.”
Founded in 2003, the South Bay Music Awards began as a simple concept written on a bar napkin but has since evolved into one of the premier events honoring independent music. The awards have become a vital platform for independent artists to gain recognition for their talent, making it a key celebration in the music industry.
This year’s 21st edition marks over two decades of recognizing outstanding contributions to independent music. The event will be marked by a special tribute to the late Jack Russell, founding member of Great White and GRAMMY Award® winner. Russell, whose work helped sell nearly 20 million albums, will be honored for his lasting impact on rock music. A tribute band, featuring notable musicians like Sean McNabb (Producer’s Choice Bass Player of the Year), Roni Lee (Producer’s Choice Female Vocalist of the Year), and Ronny North (Producer’s Choice Guitarist of the Year), will perform in his memory.
Under the theme “Bringing the Beach to the Sunset Strip,” this year’s awards ceremony promises to blend the vibrant energy of Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip with the relaxed vibe of California’s coastal culture. As excitement builds, tickets for both General Admission and VIP access are selling quickly, making it one of the must-attend events of the year for music lovers.
