South Carolina artist DC Baby releases his highly anticipated new EP titled “New Money”, presented by Baby Muzik Group. Produced entirely by Mantiz for The Block Symphony, DC Baby showcases his diverse talent, and relatable messages, suiting himself up for a rising career.
With his sound deeply rooted with classic southern roots, it’s only right that DC Baby’s music and sound mirrors the life he has experienced. Starting his love for music at a very young age,it was while living in Hinesville, Georgia that DC decided to take his music to another level and started writing and recording under the moniker DC baby. During his career, DC has won first place in the Coast to Coast artist showcase, first place in the DEF JAM “Who’s Got Next” showcase, as well as secured an opening slot for such acts as Jacquees, Yella Beezy, and most recently Megan Thee Stallion.
Now adding “New Money” to his catalog, DC Baby is well on his way to seeing major successes in music. The new body of work finds DC Baby giving us catchy bars that are sure to capture the attention of many listeners. Producer Mantiz provided the perfect production for DC Baby’s street-savvy flow. The Hollywood Digest caught up with DC Baby to find out more about his journey.
Where you from and how’d you first fall in love with music ?
DC Baby : I’m from Hinesville, GA. I fell in love with music riding around in the car with my Dad. He always listened to the music super loud which made music hard to ignore. And just becomes apart of you.
What are your musical inspirations?
DC Baby :My musical inspirations are artist Camouflage and Jeezy .
How did the arts inspire and mold you into the person that you are today?
DC Baby : Music gave me something positive to focus on and kept me out of trouble. Music has saved my life in more ways than one.
Define how music makes you feel compared to how you make others feel with it?
DC Baby : Music makes me feel alive like I’m doing something with my life. Hopefully I can inspire the next artist to take the craft seriously. Or hopefully connect with individuals on a deeper level through my music which might help them through their journey in life.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about your truth and art?
DC Baby : I have learned it’s important to trust the process always, bank on yourself, invest in craft, and stay original.
How did you start your career?
DC Baby: Spitting freestyles in the cafeteria in the 9th grade. My friends told me I was dope and to take it seriously so I did.
What do you want to leave behind in regards to legacy?
DC Baby: I would like to leave behind a great catalog of music that people will listen to now and later, financial wealth for my kids, and a good label to help other artists flourish.
What are you working on ?
DC Baby: I’ve released “New Money” it’s currently out on all platforms. This was produced Mantiz.
