Hi Wheeler! Thank you for chatting with me today!

What have you been working on lately?

I’ve been working on a bunch of things. Not only have I been on tour with Chairmen of The Board for most of the summer, I have spent my days off in the studio trying to finish an album I’m working on and rehearsing to go on the road in the fall.

What is your favorite performance you have done so far?

Kenny Bobien and I recently did a private performance for about 30 people in what I’m sure was a 20 million dollar penthouse. It was a small crowd but they really appreciated that we came to perform for them. They were extremely kind and generous to us the whole event. I was so grateful not because we got paid well or that it was fancy but because my music had reached people that I never thought would listen to it. It was an amazing feeling.

What was the most influential performance you saw that changed how you approach what you do?

A few years ago I was on the road and had the chance to check out Nile Rodgers and Chic. They put on such an amazing show and really validated for me that if you have talent and are generous and humble, people will always want to hear you perform.

What has been the most surreal moment of your career so far?

It was only within the last two years that I decided that I was going to DJ a lot more. I wanted to polish up my skills, so I asked around in my DJ friend circles to see what tips and help folks were willing to offer.

A few weeks later I got a call that changed my life. Paul Oakenfold, one of the world’s greatest DJs, heard that I needed help and invited me to his house to give me whatever lessons I needed. Not to a club or an office – to his house. All I can tell you is that Paul helped me to tighten up my DJing and I’m forever indebted to him.

What are some of your long term dream goals you are working towards?

Some of my long term goals are to tour around the world, playing at clubs, making friends and building lifelong relationships. Oh and creating a DJ themed musical for Broadway.

Any projects coming up you want us to know about?

I’m working on a full length debut album for my group Beautiful Thieves.

Please let readers know how they can keep up with you!
