Alonzo has been commanding stages across Asia for a while now. More recently, Alonzo was chosen by The Estate of Prince to sing his songs accompanied by an orchestra to sold out theaters across the US and Canada. A Hollywood favorite at clubs such as The Viper, The Whisky A Go-Go, Sayers and more, we caught up with the powerhouse performer to learn more about his newest music and what it’s like to perform alongside Christina Aguilera.
Hi Alonzo, what can you share with our readers about your upcoming new single?

Tell us about your latest performance supporting XTina!
It was a really cool opportunity that literally came out of thin air haha. We filmed a Halloween special called “31 Nights of Halloween” on Freeform network. Christina was one of the singers that were honored on this special. Singing back up for her was super inspiring. It was really cool to see her in action. She came over to us and told us that we sounded amazing. That was really cool too.
You are a singer, dancer, songwriter and performer extraordinaire. How do you do it all with such ease?
Doing it all has always come easy to me. I’d say choosing and doing 1 thing would be the challenge. I like to think of myself as a man of many gifts. I’ve never wanted to be put in a box so doing all of these things bring me pure happiness.
What do you see as your greatest musical asset?
My heart, I always sing from my heart. This allows me to transfer emotions to people. If nothing else happens when seeing me sing. You will at least FEEL where I am coming from.
Favorite song of 2019 so far? Yours? And Not Yours?
Ahhh this is such a tough questions haha im too indecisive. I’d never choose my own song I’m not that obsessed with myself lol
Being chosen by the Estate of Prince to sing his songs with an orchestra across the Nation, must have been an incredible experience. Please share.
Yea this was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I actually was chosen by the president of TCG ENT (The entertainment company that partnered with the Estate) but just being the first singer to get the approval of the estate was truly an honor. That tour was one of the most magical yet tough things I’ve ever had to do. Meeting his fans and performing in historic venues like Red Rocks was the highlight.
You have so many major accomplishments. What has been the secret to your success?
Never giving up! Taking rejection and using it as fuel for my fire. This business is not easy but if you work hard you can always get to where you want to be. Another secret of mine is making it my priority to always be a good person. When people like you they look out for you. It pays to have friends in this business. The “Its about who you know” myth is VERY true.
