Today we are chatting with Shyllon! Fill us in on what 2021 has been like so far for you.
Hey! 2021 for me has been the year of growth, especially coming after a year where all of us were quarantined and everything was shut down and things you know, got pushed back or canceled all together. So far this year has given me the ability to focus on myself and realize more of what I enjoy and what I find important, which is my close relationships, my health and of course my career.
Will you share a little backstory on yourself? Where you started and where you are now.
Yeah! I’m a first-gen Brazilian-American, born in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. I’ve I’ve been in the entertainment industry for a little over 25 years now. I started as a kid appearing in commercials and walking the runway for brands like Dillard’s, Macy’s, Vans, and Paul Frank to name a few. Throughout the years I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some really cool projects especially here in my home town. I am currently one of the cast members for Chippendales.
What does success look like to you?
I think if you do what you love and love what you do, that’s success. The attainment of happiness where your work doesn’t feel like work is such a blessing. I think consistency, growth and effort towards bettering yourself with your passions is also a great indicator for success.
We follow you on IG and love your dog and your love of plants! Tell us your dog’s name and your favorite plant and why.
Mochi! She’s a Siberian Husky and she’s a little over 13 weeks old now. I grew up with huskies and always wanted one when I grew up. My favorite plant… that’s a tough one! I’d probably say my Alocasia or Elephant Ear. I love the way they look and how quickly they push out new leaves. They’re just very aesthetically pleasing and rarely give me issues so we have a pretty good connection.
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently planning some new endeavors of mine which includes my very own podcast which is still in the beginning stages. I’ve also just recently had the opportunity to work and shoot with EyeBuyDirect, which is a Sunglass company to promote some of their new products that are made from recycled single use plastic water bottles, which aligns very well with my interest in helping out the planet and its habitants.
