How would you describe your musical style to a new potential fan Kristen?
I would say my playing style is a combination of heavy rock, blues, country, and some R&B.
Who were some of your music influences that inspired your passion for a career in music?
Some of my biggest influences are Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Al Dimeola, and Albert Lee to name a few. I just love the Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and Alvin Lee as well!
What would you like industry & listeners to take away from your original works?
I hope to bring joy and inspiration through music to as many people as I can. I try to keep my songs positive, but I still love those deep soulful songs, thanks to Gary Moore. It’s amazing to bring out different emotions through music.
Describe the most exciting highlight of your music career thus far..
I’m thankful to have played with some amazing musicians, many of whom are my idols, such as Michael Schenker and Al Dimeola. One of my favorite moments was when Michael Schenker pulled me up on stage to play Rock Bottom with him when I was 14 years old. That was a special night I will never forget! Another favorite moment was having Billy Sheehan as my special guest for my latest Mondial show in 2019. We had such a blast that we’re planning on doing another soon!
The best concert you have ever attended?
One of my favorite concerts I went to was Michael Schenker at the Downtown in Long Island. That’s where he pulled me up on stage! A few months ago my husband took me to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the first time, and that was an amazing show! Another special show I went to was seeing Les Paul in NYC. He also pulled me up on stage with him. What an honor that was to play with him!
What are you currently working on right now?
I’m currently working on new songs and getting ready to do shows so I’m definitely excited! My new rigs are in the works so it will be fun taking these babies out soon along with my new guitars!
Is there a song you have written and released that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?
Butterfly is definitely one of my favorite songs to play out live! I feel that it really portrays my personality in how people say I become someone else on stage, and I love how it brings joy to people. It always puts a smile on my face when my little nieces and nephews sing to it!
How have you evolved as a songwriter over the last 2 years during these challenging times?
I definitely feel that my songwriting has matured these few years. I started recording at home in early 2020 and have been co-writing a lot of fun songs with my good friend, Rick Agosta. I love feeling that I am more in control of the recording process and that I could just follow my heart. It’s been exciting to learn more about the recording and production end as well!
If you could collaborate with one of today’s biggest acts, who would that be?
I would love to collaborate with a few artists one day: Michael Schenker, Al Dimeola, and the Red Hot
Chili Peppers. It would also be a blast to work with Joe Bonomassa and Kid Rock one day!
What do you hope to accomplish within the next 3 years? What’s next for you?
I’m excited to connect with more people around the world. Being adopted from Romania, I think it would be special to play there one day. I look forward to recording new songs, and it’s been fun exploring new styles of music, such as bluegrass. Thank you for the interview!
