Lyrics to Quiet City a song off of my EP Rose Colored Daggers:

Car slows, window down

He says, “you’re the only one in this town”

I said, “I like it like that… I like it like that”

He laughed real hard and said, “you’re f***ing crazy”

And I laughed right back, and said “yeah maybe, but doesn’t it look nice? Doesn’t it look nice?”

‘Cause the best kept secret is a quiet city

I drink up the stars til I get dizzy

It’s a small town life, oh isn’t it nice?

So we laughed some more as he drove away,

I breathed in the quiet space between days…

Oh, the magic of the night

Face longer than a marathon, mind running its best time

Forget about the tightrope, I’m balancing on a dime

‘Cause the best kept secret is a quiet city

I drink up the stars til I get dizzy

It’s a small town life, oh isn’t it nice?

Car slows, window down

He says, “you’re the only one in this town”

I said, “I like it like that… I like it like that”

What were all the events that had to happen that finally led to your new music?

I just finished recording an 8-song record called “Back to Me” — These are songs that I have written at different times over the past 5 years while I was in a space of healing and coming back to the roots of my soul. This will be released the first of the new year. The last EP I recorded and released was Rose Colored Daggers, which was more based out of the processing of a gradual, deep heartbreak and transition from one emotional space to another.

Talk to us about the narrative of this music and why it’s so important?

My next album Back to Me is so important because it is focused on healing and the shedding of skin. Releasing all of the things that are no longer me. Healing and coming back to self is something that all people go through at one point or another, and can be difficult. It is nice to see that you are not alone.

What is the importance of storytelling with your music?

I always try to be as authentic as I can with my lyrics. Not trying to hide what I am feeling. I feel that the transparency and storytelling allows the listener to connect more with the emotions, and let it speak to them however it resonates.

How do you make sure your beginning, middle and end feel like it flows into each other with purpose?

I honestly let the song sort of form itself. The beginning is usually whatever first came into my head to begin the song, and it evolves from there. But there is no certain way that I write songs. Sometimes the chorus will come first. It is like putting together a puzzle. I will keep moving around parts and sections until it feels like it flows with a purpose and properly represents what I am feeling.

What is the theme of your new music?

The theme of my new, unreleased music is healing and empowerment.

What is your special signature that you leave on your music?

I try to leave a sense of honesty and authenticity

Leave us with a significant lyric from your latest music!

“Be wise,” says the owl, be honest in your knowing

“Be faithful,” says the rabbit, you’re loving and you’re growing

Be light as a feather, upon the wind that’s blowing

And bend like the snake, who sees what you aren’t showing….
