Like a raging tempest of emotions and a myriad of lightening sparks, ReW STaRR and The Rewlettes have surpassed the test of musical time with their Brit influenced post punk/pop decadence. Their songs take refuge in the echos that are familiar yet their music reflects a unique divergence.

With song titles including “U Suck”, “Skeletonz”, “Dead Boyfriend”, and a plethora of other ingenious titles one can’t help but enjoy the addiction to their sound and their Ramone-ish escapades. ReW’s voice is packed with empowerment and courage with an orgasmic dash of lust and chaotic frenzy. Her tones are reminiscent of the brick pathways leading to Kings Rd and Vivienne Westwood’s SEX shop and the days of “Jubliee” and Malcolm McLaren and Jayne County when rebellion was a positive thing and a mosh pit was something to look forward to.

On January 23, 2021 @ 12:30  PM ET, 9:30 AM PT and 5:30 PM UK time, The ReWlettes will be launching their heartfelt cover video “To Sir with Love” based on a scene in the 1967 movie “To Sir With Love” starring Sidney Poitier and Lulu. In collaboration with the Zest Radio Show the video will benefit “Feed The Children.” The ReWlettes along with Zest Radio believe that no child should go hungry. For each play the Zest Radio Show will donate 10 cents to “Feed the Children” up to a maximum of 10,000 plays.

The ReWlettes contain: ReW STaRR on vocals and guitar, Anne Husick playing the bass, Maya Lo on the keys, and drummer Tami Johnson. The faction is an all girl revolution, and all accomplished musicians who provide a quiet harmony supporting the explosive voice of ReW. They are fun, spirited, lively and have a refreshing sensibility that I haven’t recognized in a long time. The band takes custody of their destiny and knows that where immortality is concerned the coiffure is of no relevance…..
