Jonah Platt, a multi-platform creator and performer, has launched a new podcast, Being Jewish with Jonah Platt,” focusing on personal discussions about Jewish identity. Known for his acting and writing work from Hollywood to Broadway, Platt is using the podcast to explore a side of public figures that is rarely highlighted in mainstream media—their connection to what it means to be Jewish.

Platt’s career spans many facets of entertainment. As an actor, he has appeared in a wide range of projects, from Broadway’s Wicked and Hair at the Hollywood Bowl to television series like Uncoupled and films such as Being the Ricardos and The List. He most presently co-starred in the raunchy comedy Spread with Harvey Keitel, as will be heard this fall voicing roles in Dreamworks’ MonsterWheelies, Fox’s Universal Basic Guys, and Nickelodeon’s Rugrats.

As a writer, Platt has worked in writers’ rooms under notable industry figures such as Greg Daniels, Mike Schur, Mitch Hurwitz, and Seth MacFarlane. His credits include NBC’s Mr. Robinson, Fuse’s Billy on the Street, and Cartoon Network’s Annoying Orange. Most recently, he sold an adult animated series to Apple+ and is currently co-writing the music and lyrics for a stage adaptation of The Giver. He is also producing his first feature film, The Mensch.

Alongside his entertainment career, Platt is an actively engaged leader in the Jewish community. He regularly speaks on Jewish issues, for numerous organizations, including StandWithUs, Israel on Campus Coalition, and Jewish Federations of North America. Platt serves on the board of directors for 70 Faces Media and is an advisory board member for the American Jewish University’s Maas Center for Jewish Journeys. He has also been a mentor with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters for eight years.

His new podcast, “Being Jewish with Jonah Platt,” provides a platform for both Jews and non-Jewish allies. It features prominent figures from various industries—including entertainment, politics, and sports—to discuss Jewish identity. The first season features a diverse lineup of guests, including Skylar Astin, Gail Simmons, Metta World Peace, and Van Jones, who share how their Jewish heritage influences their personal and professional lives

Produced by Rainbow Creative and with strategic guidance from Shield Communications PR, “Being Jewish with Jonah Platt” is designed to bring conversations about Jewish identity into public discourse, normalizing these discussions in a broader cultural context. The podcast is available on major platforms, offering listeners insight that empowers them to embrace their own identities, whatever they may be.
