You just released a new music video! Will you tell us about that?

Yes! We just dropped it a couple days ago and it already has a couple thousand views! We are so stoked to see that so many people are not only vibin’ to the video but the song too! This latest single has been a long time in the making and we are so stoked that it’s being so well received.

What was the creative process for it?

The video was pretty straight forward in terms of artistic direction. We really weren’t looking for anything plot driven, just some warm visuals to help accentuate all the feelings that the song itself!

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

We always get so overwhelmed when we get asked this question. There are so many artist out there who have lit the way for us as well as new artist who are constantly inspiring and challenging us. We are definitely influenced by a lot of 70’s/80’s funk and disco. Patrice Rushen, Commodores, Brick, Maze, Isley Brothers, Con Funk Shun, George Benson, Chocolate Milk! All of these are amazing groups that showcase how incredibly talented musicians can come together and show off not just individual talent but the overall artistry of the band while still keeping to a pop format. Then there are all the new musicians out there that we really cant get enough of! Alabama Shakes, Leven Kali, Kyle Dion, Dijon, Kid Bloom, Mk.gee, Ginger Root, Monsune, the list just goes on and on! Clearly you can see music is our life and the hunt for interesting bands never stops!

Who would be a dream collaboration for you?

It would be incredible if we got to collaborate with the likes of Brittany Howard. She’s another one of our big influences. Also, if we ever had the chance to play with Stevie Wonder, we could die happily after that.

Do you have a piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?

Always stay humble. No matter how good you get at your craft, there are always more songs to learn and more experience to gain. On the opposite end, don’t be humble to a point of self deprecation. Believe in yourself and your ability to grow. Head advice from those greater than you, and help guide those who you are greater than.

Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

We have another new single coming out April 29th! It’s called “Postcard Daze” and is a bit of a funky disco revival tune with a modern twist. Make sure to pre-save and give it a listen when it’s out!
