Hello Jill! Thank you for being a part of our interview process! We are excited to have you here!
What makes you feel most empowered?
I feel most empowered when my actions will directly result in somebody’s life being better.
How do you balance work and home life?
I’ve learned to set boundaries and to set up rewards. It can be challenging since I work from home, but I have an office and that helps differentiate between work and home life. When work time is over, I turn it off and walk away.
What is the best career move you ever made?
I was working at an assisted living facility and had just completed my bachelor’s degree. I wanted a job that was in alignment with my degree and the degree I was working to complete. I applied for a project manager position, got the job, and had amazing opportunities to try out things I knew, setting up systems, and developing my organizational development skills. Eventually, the owner of the company encouraged me to start my own consulting agency, which has led me to where I am now.
What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?
I’m a big risk-taker, so it’s difficult to define the biggest! I’ve met with decision-makers and presented how I can be a resource to them, despite the fact that I’m a woman and it was a male-dominated industry. But probably my biggest risk was starting LINK.
When do you feel the most inspired?
I am most inspired after I have finished something that was very challenging.
How do our readers stay connected with what you are up to every day?
Social media, of course! https://www.linkedin.com/in/jillvaldezlink/
