A new musical force has arrived. Delta Underground, the electrifying collaboration between Greg Alsop (Tokyo Police Club) and artist Mike Scala, makes its debut with the release of their first single, “Where The Wild Things Are.” The project brings together two seasoned musicians who found common ground after relocating to Los Angeles—Alsop from Toronto and Scala from New York.

Bonding over their love for classic pop legends like Prince, David Bowie, and U2, the duo set out to create something fresh, boundary-pushing, and immersive. Writing sessions began in Alsop’s Valley-based studio, but the creative spark truly ignited when they joined a songwriting retreat in a medieval castle in Tuscany. Surrounded by ancient landscapes and collaborating with renowned musicians such as Will Wells (Logic, Hamilton, Imagine Dragons), Marcus Miller (OneRepublic, Jon Batiste), and Kristian Attard (Zedd, Jason Mraz), Delta Underground crafted a sound that bridges reality and imagination.
An Invitation to Adventure: “Where The Wild Things Are”
Born from their time in Tuscany, “Where The Wild Things Are” captures the thrill of exploration, escapism, and the unknown. The track masterfully balances dark, brooding tones with a euphoric energy, culminating in the anthemic refrain:
“You can always come with us.”
This isn’t just a song—it’s a call to adventure. In Delta Underground’s world, the wild things aren’t lurking in the shadows; they’re leading the party.
Blurring the Lines Between Live Music and Immersive Performance
Back in Los Angeles, Alsop and Scala refined Delta Underground’s sound and began making waves in the live music scene. Their hybrid DJ/live performance sets have captivated crowds at Lightning in a Bottle, Wisdome LA, and an official Grammy after-party hosted by Warner Music, where they were joined by special guest Jacob Scesney (Mike Posner).
As they continue to build momentum, Delta Underground is gearing up for a series of single releases in 2025, leading up to their debut album. Tour dates are expected to be announced soon.
Beyond the Music: A Commitment to Change
Delta Underground isn’t just about creating innovative music—they’re also driven by a mission to give back. Through Scala’s Foundation for Youth, the duo actively supports humanitarian efforts, including school construction, mental health programs, disaster relief, and sustainable initiatives across 30+ countries.
