Composer Randy Edelman is set to unveil his new eleven track album on Friday, September 6, 2024 via Tribeca Records. The record will stream on all digital platforms worldwide and will also be released in a vinyl CD format as well as a double vinyl physical album as a limited edition.

“Waltzing On A High Wire” is brimming with a variety of tender and diverse musical styles and themes. First and foremost, the music and the fashioning of the music goes beyond simply listening to a record but is rather like experiencing a symphonic poem. It’s hard not to appreciate the sheer technical skill that went into the assembly of the album. Produced by Randy himself, one would expect nothing less than flawless.

The album comprises a collection of stories that flow like a stream of consciousness with Randy’s sharp lyrics and affecting vocals. A key characteristic of this album, aside from the fact it is infused with Randy’s originality,  is the reality that he is and has always been a genre chameleon. There are some obvious nods to nostalgia in his coming of age song “21/Coming of Age” that suggests the wisdom of maturity and his “Pat Wants to Know” 60’s vibe, a delicate and vulnerable lack of communication motif.. The anthemic global single release “Birds of Freedom” contain lyrics that are not only beautiful but pleading. The song inspires hope, the lifeblood of humanity.

Looking at the landscape of the pop music of today there is a lack of that direct honesty, (with the exception of Billie Eilish). Randy’s lyrics and music are truthful and have the ability to draw you in at moments when you really need it. You truly hear and resonate with the songs on this album…and you believe them….and if you listen really close you will get to know him and be automatically drawn to him through his songs, not only on this album but on most of the songs he has written.

Randy has had and continues to have a multitude of successful careers in the music industry from pop song phenomena (“Weekend in New England”, covered by Barry Manilow, “Isn’t It A Shame” covered by Patti LaBelle and Nelly, “You” recorded by The Carpenters), to soundtrack guru having scored the music for over 100 television themes and films, (“My Cousin Vinny”, “Last of the Mohicans”, “The Bruce Lee Story”, “MacGyver”). Most recently as he forges ahead writing soundtracks and new music while touring and performing in a solo one man show, the soundscape of his career through his music. On December 8, 2024 he will be debuting at Carnegie Hall and on June 6, 2024 he will be performing at Lincoln Center (tour schedule below).

Some believe that the true success of music is measured by how many people it impacts. The notes are always there suspended in mid-air waiting for an artist to embrace them. Randy has the ability to pluck those ethereal notes from the abyss and make them into a tangible form giving voice to our deepest emotions.
