Stacy! Great to have you here today!

Please tell us about your latest release!

My latest release is called “Come Home.” It’s about being lonely and wanting your partner to just come home and take that loneliness away. It’s a special type of loneliness that can’t be cured by friends or family, just by your significant other. I’ve always felt so much more at ease when my partner is home with me, and I don’t feel that loneliness anymore. This song is also about a time where I felt so lonely and depressed that I started overdosing on Benadryl and experienced things like hallucinations. I don’t know why I thought the Benadryl would help. I think it was more of an escape, but the side effects were very unpleasant. Nevertheless, I kept it up for a while.

What was the creative process behind your single, “Come Home”?

The creative process behind “Come Home” was just singing out words over the beat and letting what was in me come out. I had no plan going into it. I just felt the beat and let my emotions overcome me and say what needed to be said from my inner core.

Are you planning on releasing more music this year?

I’m definitely planning on releasing more music this year. Hopefully an EP, but I’m somewhat of a perfectionist so I want to make sure that the music I put on my EP has the right sound I’m going for. I’m going to be writing a lot and then picking the best of the best songs to put on my EP.

Do you have any celebration plans surrounding your new release?

I did have celebration plans around the release of “Come Home.” It was released a day after my birthday, so I sort of turned it into a birthday celebration/single release day celebration with cake and decorations. I would have had a full-blown party if it wasn’t for COVID.

What is your writing process like?

My writing process is sitting by my keyboard and coming up with chord progressions followed by me just singing over those progressions. The lyrics are often unplanned and I just sing whatever comes to my head which I believe comes deep from within my core and is something that is needed to be said in order to express my deepest feelings. Being a perfectionist has its downsides, you’re never satisfied with what you have. But at some point, you have to put your foot down and say, “What I have is good shit.”

What is your favorite song right now?

My favourite song right now is a song called “Contaminated” by BANKS.
