SO GREAT TO HAVE YOU FOR OUR INTERVIEW TODAY. TELL US ABOUT YOUR LATEST SINGLE AND WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WORKING ON LATELY!

I’m so thankful to be here! I’m so excited ‘I still believe’ will be out this Friday. It’s a song that is so special to me- I co-wrote it with my producer and friend Brad Sample and I love how it turned out. It’s extra meaningful to me too, because my mom sang some of the background vocals! I’ve also been working on new music, teaching remote voice lessons and doing remote session work the last few months. It’s been such an interesting time to learn how to keep doing what I normally would do, but in none of the usual ways!

DO YOU BELIEVE IN OVERNIGHT SUCCESS?

I really don’t believe in overnight success- I think things tend to happen quickly when they come to fruition, but people rarely know how long the ‘night before’ was and how much prep happened before the ball started to roll.

HOW DID YOUR HOMETOWN SHAPE YOUR SOUND AND VIBE?

I think my hometown (Loudon, TN) shaped my sound by giving me the space to explore- it’s a tiny town and we grew up on a farm so I spent most of my time making up songs and singing them to my goats and horses 🤣 I also had an amazing choir teacher in high school who encouraged me out of my comfort zone by making me take solos, even though I was painfully shy and telling me I really should pursue music. So thankful for Mrs. Brakebill !

ARE YOU A HOPELESS ROMANTIC OR MORE OF A REALIST?

I am 100% a hopeless romantic- there’s no part of me that’s a realist. If you follow astrology, I come by it honestly. My birth chart is all fire (passion) water (emotion) and air (floatiness) and zero earth, which is what keeps you grounded and logical. I’m just very romantic, very idealistic, still living out my Disney princess childhood dreams.

DO YOU GET MORE ATTACHED TO SOME SONGS OVER OTHERS?

I think songs I write feel like my children in a sense- of course I love and appreciate them all, BUT there are absolutely favorites. Sometimes it’s because what you wrote about is so close to your heart, others it’s that it turned out so cool in production- for instance, I recently released a single called ‘beautiful and tragedy’ and I liked it but I wasn’t obsessed with it, and then when it was done being produced by Brad Sample and Bobby Holland, it was so cool that it quickly became a favorite.
