Hello Jen Eagle! It is great to speak with you today!
Tell us about your latest project!
I just released a new single called ‘What Happened’. It is my first release where I only play piano and sing. All my life I have been making songs like that and always been using songwriting as self-therapy. Sometimes the songs have turned out as electronic dance music to give it extra power, but this time I keep it very simple, raw and honest.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Lucas Graham inspires me a lot. I love how honest he and his music is. As all artists he has so many emotions and after I saw him start crying on stage I felt I could see myself in him. The same with the artist MØ and many many more.
Do you remember the first time you realized you wanted to pursue music as a career?
When I was 7 years old I clearly remember watching a Tina Turner concert on TV and I said to my mom “I will do the same one day”
What has been one of your favorite or most surreal moments of your career so far?
So far I have actually never had a positive surreal moment but a lot af favorit real moments which I am grateful for
Who are some of the artists currently inspiring you?
At the moment female artists such as Miley Cyrus, Ave Max, Zara Larsson, MØ, Drew Sycamore and of cause Lady Gaga
What do you do when you have writer’s block or a creative block? Any go-to ways to shake yourself out of it?
To be honest I sometimes wish I had writer’s block since I have so many demos and ideas just waiting. I use most of my time being a manager for myself. I’ve recently found out I’m not getting that much further on my own. I never had writer’s block since I started year 2014
Do you have a piece of advice that you would give someone just starting out in the music world?
Be careful who you are dealing with and have yourself in it all the way. Use your intuition!
What do you hope to see in the music world as the industry continues to evolve?
That’s a big question. I hope it will be easier to find the right way to break through for new artists
Any upcoming projects you want us to know about?
Yes, I have a very interesting new project. A cool modern pop song. I can’t wait for you to hear it!
