If you had to sum up music in three words, which would you choose?
Music in general? “My Soul Food.” My music as an artist? “Dirt road meets DJ.” Well, that’s four words! Haha! But it’s a good description for my sound, which is a blend of Pop, Country, and EDM!
If you had a time machine would you choose to go back in time or visit the future?
I’d go back in time to when my mom was in her early twenties and be a fangirl with her! She has the best stories of following her favorite bands on tour, and with the current lockdown, I’d LOVE to go see some of the best bands of all time and sneak backstage 😉
What do you bring with you everywhere you go?
Pictures of my dogs, and I show them to everyone! Haha! I have a mini Aussie (Koda) and an Aussie Border Collie mix (Bear)! They’re cuddling with me now on the couch as I write this!
What is your biggest passion in life?
Whether through my music or just in my everyday life, my passion is to make everyone FEEL “invited” and “included.” Between getting bullied growing up, and facing times of rejection throughout my experience in the entertainment industry over the past 20 years, I know what it’s like to feel left out. I want everyone to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they “belong” and they have an irreplaceable purpose in this world.
Have you celebrated any recent victories? If so, tell us!!
My single “White Tee” just celebrated 25,000 streams on Spotify! I’m very grateful for that, and I can’t wait to see what happens with my upcoming single, Country Club, which will be released on all major platforms when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve (pre-save Country Club here: https://snd.click/rzqv )
Do you have a favorite holiday song?
“Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande is my FAV Christmas song – although, I may have it on repeat all year long 😉
Are there any holiday traditions you are looking forward to this season?
It’s my first year experiencing Christmas as a homeowner! So I’m really excited to start some traditions of my own. One thing’s for sure – Christmas Eve, we’ll go to church for the candlelight service and then come home and make hot chocolate martinis and watch a Christmas movie! I’m so excited for that! 2020 has really shown all of us that it’s the “small” things that matter in life. I’m looking forward to a Christmas in my first home with my husband and my pups! Prior to becoming homeowners in Nashville this year, we lived in a self-renovated RV for 3 years. So it’s been fun to get a full-size Christmas Tree this year!
How do you normally recharge?
I LOVE working hard and hustling with my music, so being on the go with co-writes and recording fills my soul! But I also love just chilling on my couch with my husband and my dogs and binge-watching The Bachelorette!
