You have a new release on Friday! That is so exciting! Will you tell the readers a bit about it?
Yes!! I’ve never been more excited about a release! “Suffocate” is about anger and insanity, about all the dark thoughts we have as humans. It’s twisted and creepy and weird, and I love it. It’s got a little bit of pop and a little bit of rock. I’m really proud of it!
What was your creative process for this song?
I went through a bad breakup, and I had a hard time dealing with the anger I felt. I needed to find an outlet, so I channeled all my pent-up frustration and rage into this song. When I played it for my friends, they convinced me I needed to record it, and my producer, Alex Park, ran with it! The finished product is exactly what I pictured in my head when I wrote it.
Do you have any plans for a music video for it?
There won’t be a full-out music video for it yet, but there will be a couple other videos to follow along with as you listen.
Is there a piece of advice or a message you would like to pass along to your fans?
Don’t underestimate your dark side! Accept it as part of who you are, and learn to love it. You never know what great ideas it may have.
