February doesn’t seem the most promising backdrop for romance, but nevertheless, there it is – this day of grand gestures and questionable merchandise. Love it or loathe it, you can’t help but notice it. It’s a strange mixture of the sincere and the comic, in a month that’s both bleak and optimistic. In celebration of this romantic promise, composer Randy Edelman will be performing his most romantic songs and ballads and sharing the stories that inspired them on Friday, February 14th @ 8:00 PM @ the First Parish in Milton MA (535 Canton Ave.). While sharing the journey of his endless career he will showcase musical excerpts from his films and television scores including “My Cousin Vinny”, “Kindergarten Cop”, “Ghostbusters ll”, “The Bruce Lee Story”, “Gettysburg”, “Last of the Mohicans” (which earned him a Golden Globe Nomination), MacGyver and many others.

His songs are often recognized as some of the most romantic ever written including “A Weekend In New England” (covered by Barry Manilow), “You” (covered by The Carpenters), “Isn’t it a Shame” (covered by Patti LaBelle and hip-hop superstar Nelly), and many others that were covered by artists, including Olivia, Newton-John, Dionne Warwick, Blood, Sweat &Tears, Willy Nelson, and more. Randy’s songs evoke a heightening of the senses, and interpretation of thoughts, and sometimes even an urgent tightening in your chest and stomach that makes you stop everything you’re doing just to listen. His music is individualistic, emotional, traumatic, and most of all passionate. He will also be performing several songs from his newest album “Waltzing On A High Wire.”
The multi-award winning symphonist will make a stop at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where he was asked to address the senior graduating film score class. The Berklee College of Music is the largest independent College of contemporary music in the world.
On Saturday February 15, 2025 @ 5:00 PM Randy will open for the New England Music Hall Of Fame @ The Vault Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, MA (791 Purchase Street). Last year Randy was honored by his induction into the NEMHOF for his contribution to the integrity of music.
His Weekend In New England will close on Sunday February 16 @ the award winning, artsy and intimate venue The Lilypad in Cambridge MA (1353 Cambridge St.) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Currently Randy continues to write new music and perform his one man spectacular live. He is in the midst of writing the soundtrack to the new Josh Webber film “Love Me Dead” starring Dove Cameron, RJ Mitte & Robert LaSardo which will be released in March. His exorcism-based thriller “The Beast Inside” was released this past December and can be seen on Amazon Prime. Director Ate De Jong’s Nashville Saga “Heart Strings” was also recently released.
Randy’s soundtrack of “The Beast Inside” is streaming on all digital platforms as well as “Waltzing On A High Wire” both on Tribeca Records. Congratulations to the composer for winning Best Record Producer for Waltzing On A High Wire, for the BroadwayWorld Awards 2025.
You can also see Randy live at Lincoln Center Friday June 6, 2025 and at Carnegie Hall on Friday December 19, 2025 in New York City.
