We are chatting with Mark Vogel, welcome! So lovely to chat with you. How has 2021 been for you so far?

It’s been pretty amazing…especially considering the fact that we started off this year in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

The recording world, for me, has been unbelievably busy.  Artists are not touring or even playing locally, so it’s been a remarkably busy and creative time for me as a record producer.  As a composer, I’m in the middle of 3 musicals, all at different stages (no pun intended) and so I’m going 6 days a week…and very grateful.

We know you do many things, but what would you say is your greatest passion in life?

Now there’s a question that I have always tried to answer.

I started out as a singer / songwriter, as well as a music director on a television show.  I could never decide which was my favorite.  If I was singing, then I wanted to conduct the show.  If I was conducting, I would wish I had written it…and so on, and so on..lol.  I came to the conclusion that I am an artist who creates music.  I’m passionate about all of it.  Music is the greatest communication tool we have, and it’s really all about living life together, and loving one another.  That’s the real passion, right?!?

What would you love to achieve by the end of this year?

I am potentially in the biggest contract of my career.  I’ll be able to announce this summer.   I would love to achieve the project, and it looks like that’s going to happen…please stay tuned…

What has been a great piece of career advice you have gotten that you believe still rings true today?

“Do what you love, and love what you do”.  I believe that comes from within and will always ring true.

What’s the name of a song that never fails to make you smile?

I’m going to answer that in 3 parts.

1. Bridge Over Troubled Water (always makes my heart smile)

2. I Wanna Dance With Somebody (just simply puts a smile on my face)

and, (wait for it)

3. Beethoven’s 5th Symphony
